I think overall, some of the most beautiful cars come from Italy

Am I right, or do you think another country has better looking cars overall?

I am sure this is a setup, but the only one I can think of is France. And they run a really close second

You would be correct in my opinion. Many other countries have great looking cars but Italians typically have the best looking stuff on average.

The A6GCS is one hell of a car. So stunning.

You're absolutely right, Italy has produced the prettiest cars in history. France is a distant second imho. The UK is probably #3. After those three all bets are off.

Judging from the beauties built by Lancia, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Pininfarina, Bertone, Pagani, DeTomaso, [Pre-VW]Bugatti, Iso, and Fiat, I would agree.

I'd agree there, although you could say that a lot of the best British designs were Italian in origin (all the best looking Triumph's for instance).

After that I'd say Japan and Germany joint 4th. Japan created some truly stunning cars back in the 60s and 70s (perhapes even up to the 90s) when they were largely improving upon European designs.

I'm not sure whether it's just differing cultural perceptions of what looks good, but the latest crop of Japanese cars seem to look a bit funny to me (Lexus I'm looking at you in particular).

Germany purely for the W113 SL, sharknose BMWs and the Mk1 VW Golf (the latter being by an Italian designer).

I was thinking of France when I wrote this, but numbers-wise I think Italy has churned out more vehicles. France has gorgeous stuff, but not that much of it.

Japan has a design trend that's all over the place, but I can't think of a single Japanese design of this century that I really like. That said, I'm not a fan of most modern cars anyway. When only considering attainable cars the Alfa 159 is one of the very few 21st century designs I like.

ah if it was a numbers game then Italy might win. They sold a whole lot of DS's and 504 coupes though

I'd say yes to all except Bugatti - I consider the real Bugatti cars French even though Ettore was born Italian.

Agreed about the modern cars. I like the 8C, 159, GranTurismo, V8 Vantage, 2nd gen TT, XF, XK and the Scirocco attainable-wise (unless the F-Type counts as attainable).

There are others that look good, but it's only really those that I think are great designs.
